It is now Wednesday evening and I feel behind on my posting. Been very busy since my last action packed entry. Terri Sue landed on Monday evening after a delayed flight I scooped her up at midnight. My Monday was another full work day and having 3 meals at home. I truly do take breaks in between the overindulgence of this Maine eating. I have found my new permanent office called, Coffee by Design. It is set up perfectly for the remote worker who needs a place to focus, yet still around some funky vibes and great music. It rained ALL day and was chilly. This desert girl welcomes all the changing weather patterns. To fill you all in and not to keep Vince hanging…..Dr Zev did reply to my email. I had sent him my picture in front of his closed office and he has extended a possible get together the last week Im here, stay tuned for that update.
I did have my first need at my apartment and have bonded with both Monica & The maintenance guy, super attentive and beyond helpful and friendly. Back to the title of this entry……So Terri came here on miles, so she had a 6 hour layover in Philly. We chatted on the phone a lot in anticipation of her arrival. We need all of you to vote as to her blog nickname…..she wanted to be boots, but that is taken. Who are Dora’s friends….she didn’t like any other options. We laughed so hard determining if we will call her Queen B, Queen of the Shining Stars, the Royal sister, Miss Terri, Miss Shining Star, or The friendly sister…… she was dying that this was our convo. So anyone want to comment on a vote? She has never joined me on my travels to be mentioned. I feel so lucky and blessed to have this special week together with her. We both talk to EVERYONE!!
On our first morning out with me as her Dora guide, we met Beth on the street. Beth was visiting from Kansas city and asking about The Holy Donut…..curious if it was the potato one everyone raves about, well of course I know- oink oink. This quick answer and guidance to be sure to try 88 Donut turned into a 20 min conversation of how small the Jewish geography game works. Turns out she went to U of A, was in a sorority. She told us her life story at 8 am on Commercial St by the pier. By the end we had all exchanged contact info. Her and husband are retired, traveling the world, just back from Italy, etc.
We continue on our Eastern Prom 3 mile walk and I showed her all the cute areas around Washington St.- I provided a real thorough tour of my new hometown. I work from home and Miss Terri ventures out alone. I have taken off Thurs/Fri, but need to wk these first few days, We met up at Eventide for lunch to try the long awaited for BEST lobster roll, hands down. It is a brown butter hot one, and SO good!
We made our way to 88, she has to try the hot mini maple. Yummy, she agrees delish! Thank goodness for my new purchase, the scale is my friend, lol. I worked the rest of the day and we made our way to the wharf for the Sunset/ Lighthouse tour on Casco Bay. Again we meet two ladies from Long Island. Making friends everywhere we go. ….its entertaining. We both love to chat and I believe people are drawn to us, ha ha. We laugh a lot and are engaging with all. We all board the boat and get drinks and sit near each other. The boat was wonderful, the weather behaved and the sunset was glorious. A perfect evening for this activity. We saw 4 lighthouses, saw incredibly beautiful mansions on the water in Cape Elizabeth, and learned more facts about Maine. Did you know how many pounds of lobster come from this state yearly…… 99 million pounds of lobster is shipped from Maine yearly. Pay attention, your blueberry’s, lobster, and lots of maple syrup come from here. They pointed out all the Islands that surround the area. We have plans to visit one tomorrow. When the cruise ended we had dinner reservations at a dining experience, Central Provisions. Not sure my description can do justice so I will just share some photos. It was another yummy night. We walked over 18,000 steps today. Miss Terri broke 20,000 steps, impressive for her first full day.
Wednesday, I have a packed full work day. Love my job SO much, I have plans to meet a fellow PairTree colleague to wk together in Portsmouth, NH. My Royal Sister( trying to get a feel ha) had never been so she came along for the 1 hour drive. I worked with Jack all day in a cool Bookstore/Bar, while Miss Shining Star had her own Dora filled day. My day was busy with calls. The 3 of us had dinner together in Portsmouth and Terri and I made it home for her to experience a Bealls ice cream cone. Im sitting on my deck writing this finally at 10 pm with the seagulls singing and the air at a perfect temperature. Tomorrow is an adventure filled day with lots on our agenda. I knew if I didn’t write the post would be too long.

My Vote is for Sista Teresa.
Glad you gals are repeating the important eating moments…good thing Maine is famous for: Moose, Blueberries, Arcadia National Park, Windjammers and Lighthouses, rather than Donuts, Ice Cream, Lobster Rolls, Maple Syrup and Pancakes. Sleep well. Love me.
Susan
Miss Terri should be her name as we all refer to her
Have a fabulous time

Love living through your sojourn, especially since it’s been 110* plus for the last 10 or 12 days. You got out of town just in time!
