One Week Flew by…..

Not sure how we are back on the plane, heading home already. The age old saying, “Time flies when your having fun”, so true. Thank you, Aunt Marlene & Uncle Jeff!! We had such a relaxing beautiful fall -filled family Thanksgiving in CT. I have always loved New England, and for this time of year. The wind was blowing, leaves still a beautiful shade of red, orange, and lots of bare branches, winter is around the corner. The cold air with blue-grey skies is looming. I somehow slept more on this trip than I do at home. The quiet of this comforting home, or the darkness of the coming winter, not sure but my body is very thankful for the 8 hours of sleep nightly. Im definitely rejuvenated and ready for my next adventure that somehow starts tomorrow AM. To stay caught up I will recap our lovely week in CT. Its always so nice to see my mommy with her brother together, adds to the nostalgia of cherished family time and memories to last a lifetime. Crazy they got to be together for 2 Thanksgiving holiday’s in a row. I doubt that has happened since their younger days?

We started with a Friday Shabbat dinner at my aunt and uncles house. Seriously, these are priceless moments that are etched in my memory like a movie. Challah, the most delish orzo with mushrooms, moist juicy chicken, red wine, broccoli….and a homemade lemon meringue pie. I seriously am in need of a gym and lots of exercise. Cousins and puppy time! Lunch in West Hartford Center, at our favorite place, Treva, Saturday cocktails and strolling around the cute shops. A fabulous brunch at Jared’s in Burlington with an intense game of Jenga. My CUJ likes to make a game challenging.

Saige and Aunt Audrey…
My famous CUJ❤️

A weekend of quality family time relaxing, playing games, eating, and meeting new additions. The sweetest new baby Lincoln is another perfect beautiful baby. We eventually made our way to Ellington- farm land area in CT, a new exploration for me. Adam & Melissa are building a beautiful house expected to be ready in March with so much land surrounding them to play. We got the grand tour- insulation just went in, framing is done. It looked beautiful and next time we visit I plan to have a sleepover with Saige.

The benefits of remote work, Im eternally grateful for my new job. So great to work from anywhere. I spent a day at the Spaces, co-working Office at BlueBack in the center, had my office set up in the dining room another day, and Starbucks. Lunches with family, a true bonus. My mom got to enjoy a night at the casino. We went to the MGM an hour away. Everyone was a winner, minus me. Lol Matthew was king of the craps table, Julie managed Blackjack, and my mom and CUJ won on the slots. My luck on roulette did not go far.

The night before Turkey day was a fun night out on the town in a private room at Max’s Oyster Bar in the Center. About 15-20 of my cousins friends all came out to drink up and eat appetizers. We had a great time seeing some old friends of theirs. Catherines mom came, we always love seeing her too. Thanksgiving day was super fun, it started with everyone putting on matching black & white PJs. Fun pics on FB, this will be a new tradition I try to adopt in AZ for next year. Even the kids, baby, and puppies had the PJs on. The food was yummy….wine, cocktails, appetizers, homemade blueberry pie, great conversations, and a warm fire. And here we are, getting ready to land in Philly for our lay over before arriving in PHX. My daddy made his presence last night by gracing Boots and I, a first class upgrade on both flights. Comfort all the way home.

Great Aunt Audrey…

Time to unpack do laundry, repack and head back to the airport in the morning. Me and Fancy Tracy will be on our way to Portugal. Feeling extremely grateful, thankful, and blessed. Life’s lessons in retrospect make sense, but boy oh boy, can they be challenging at times. Growing pains are real….always worth it in the end. Change is constant. Life is good, Thank you Hashem!

Priceless!❤️

If not for the AZ relatives sharing the greatest sister in the world, and DTG in person, this Thanksgiving holiday wouldn’t have been the same:-) Thanks to the Hurvitz and Wollheim families… sharing is caring. The visit, weather and circumstances were outstanding. Glad to have been the launching pad for DTG’s perpetually traversing adventure this time around; can’t wait for the next visit.
