OMG….Dora is up to serious Adventure’s….

Friday has arrived…..crazy 1 entire week has already flown by. I plan to purchase a scale at Target on Sunday to stay in check, oink oink. Lol So many of you who commented, are worried about being full, diabetes, and on the verge of a food coma. The good news is this morning started with a glorious walk along the Eastern Promenade. A 3 mile stroll by train tracks, walking paths filled with runners, walkers, and bikers. All while staring into the glistening majestic sea filled with all size boats….little ones, long sail boats, and giant luxurious yachts. We made our way through Munjoy Hill taking in the beauty of the unique New England style homes in the East End. Tracy is constantly blown away that I can navigate our way through all these streets and know where I am no matter what….we stumbled upon all these cute cafes, delis, bagel shops, cheese shops, etc. Don’t worry it was 8am, not much was opened. We stopped at our neighborhood friendly building coffee shop, ‘Coffee Me Up’ and got coffee to take upstairs. It was another full working day. I made us each a special fresh farm egg dish using the fresh eggs from the farmers market. You can totally taste a difference. Might need to nurture a chicken, lol

A productive work day came to a close for me at 4pm(EST)….I packed up, got us gas, and by 5:30 pm we hit the rd. As you all know I have a lead foot, as once asked by a police officer, lol. Well, it was sort of funny……Mr Tracy and she use Life 360, apparently he was watching us and kept being notified of my 90 mph speed. Caught red handed….we had a chuckle. We made record timing, and really got to explore many towns and other areas of Maine. 25 min away from Ellsworth, we stumbled upon The Lucerne Inn….a white castle like huge colonial type house that had a sign serving dinner. Remember we are in the Country in the middle of nowhere. Shocked by the beauty we pulled in…..decided to share an appetizer and blueberry vodka lemonades. The views at this place were spectacular. As we leave….and drive down desolate roads…..I have a small happy blown away type heart attack and make a quick U-Turn. I see a sign with a Drs name I recognized. For any of you readers familiar with my dads Des Bio homeopathic company he worked for and know the famous Maine dr who cures Lyme disease, Dr Zev Meyerowitz…..well I know his name VERY well, may have spoken to him on the phone a handful of times. In any case…..I freak out that in a State of 1.3 million, on a deserted rd in the middle of nowhere his office is before us. I jump out of the car and take photos. We both chat about how freakin loud my dad is when he wants to make his presence known and send a message or a hello. It was a had to be there moment, totally Nuts!!! And magically meaningful💫🧚🏻‍♀️

Made it to Ellsworth, ME- We arrive to our hidden castle, pseudo happy haunted house Air Bnb room for the night at 8pm. Here is where Dora is truly in charge….I did the planning for this adventure with a budget in mind. The place had 400+ positive reviews, Bill & Paul are super hosts. Okay…..I have never rented a room(heard about it from my fellow PairTree digital nomad collegue), adventure awaits. These men have been super attentive over the last few months over email. Older guys from the 60’s, Bill graduated from UCONN and is a proud gpa, Paul his partner is a baker and makes raved about fresh muffins.. Reviews mentioned the yummy homemade muffins and fresh coffee, place always clean. We pull up, follow directions- retrieve keys from lockbox, unlock door. A handwritten “Welcome Laurie” sign with step by step instructions how to find our room and bathroom…..an “ over the river and through the woods” detailed description. Feels like we are on a scavenger hunt. We are giggling as we look around at all the collected trinkets, antiques, books, games, etc. This place is HUGE, old, packed with stuff, and immaculate. A little spooky, but quite comfortable. We settled in and both took videos to capture the bizarre time machine experience. Mrs Fancy loves the wall paper, the carpet, and how clean & spacious it is….as much as she loves a 4 Seasons, this girl can rough it with the best of them. A very moldable easy going girl. We walked to Main St and checked out the only open Brewery. We were hit on by locals who bought us a cider and a beer. Tried Strawberry hard cider & Peanut Butter stout. They were quite interesting small town locals. Could have been previous clients of mine…..we enjoyed the authentic conversations.

Back home, we shared a homemade choc chip muffin and got ready for bed. This bed is comfy and the room is huge! No one else is here in this gigantic house, except the black cat, named Winston. We don’t really understand what is going on here, but feel like I really uncovered such a hidden treasure. Plan is to wake up early and head to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor

❤️ Love, the real Dora 😉

I was glad to read the last paragraph because I started worrying that I wasn’t going to hear from you anymore, because of the small town, locals and trying different things….the song Sweet Home Alabama was not written in Maine. You are certainly getting the New England experience… Enjoy the “Harbor” view!

    Love Me

You left me hanging. What happened with Dr Zev? Was he at home?
While I mentioned how you whet my appetite, It doesn’t mean I don’t want to learn what culminate traeats you enjoy. (Live vicariously through your food-photos)
    Let the adventures continue. 💕🥂

Dear Love Shack and Dear Fancy,

    1. Were Bill & Paul’s Excellent Adventure born in sixties, in their 60s, or acted like hippies from the sixties?

    2. Is a proud gpa a grandpa or he did well at UConn?

    3. All the muffins sound good, but I would watch you eat them.

    4. Love the Zev story. I can’t imagine the office manger having to say their last name all day, everyday. Maybe she says which Dr. “M” do you want?

    5. Is the big white building your haunted house or the red scary Harry Potter one?

    Love,
    PIYA
