How to recap an entirely packed full fun day in never never land. I mean seriously we were SO busy today living our BEST life! Im so used to cultural vacations, exploring new city’s, using my brain to learn, soaking up religions of the world, or submerging myself with locals. Ive realized Im not usually a beach only vacation person for more then a weekend get away. Truly this is THE LIFE, and at an action packed camp!! Club Med is for EVERYONE, yes Susan…..I can totally imagine The Golden Girls here! A must!! Lol
We have decided to extend this adventure another 24 hours. We cant imagine having to return to reality, truly a bit nervous for this re-entry!! Having both used miles to come here, it was an easy change. We are leaving now Sat, instead of Friday. Yippee Yay Yay! One more day & night in paradise!
We woke up, Jules had some work calls, I turned on CNN to join reality for a little , as I cant believe its inauguration day and Im not glued in front of a TV, nor do they have FOX (UJ u would not b happy), or any other news channel except CNN. I checked out FB, got my Michael G news update, thank you for keeping me informed on politics and history in the making! 🙂 Will need to watch speeches once back home, one day.
Our day started with a run, imagine that- I actually joined Jules for exercise. I did a 1.5 mile, she went for 2.5. I enjoyed a breakfast at Sharkie’s- tried a yummy pancake with banana’s, delicious! We then decided to try the Trapeze. This was a hoot. Scary to climb up up the metal narrow stairway, Brie from SF and Charley were very calming. But holy cow…..I had not problem jumping off the ledge( I mean I have jumped out of airplanes), but I could not get my feet over the bar. The landing in the net part and flipping off was thrilling enough for me. Next up, Julie! She was once again terrified. Her laughter and sounds always makes me like like Aunt Marlene is here too. She was a ROCKSTAR! Once she got the courage to jump off the ledge, she got her feet up and over, voila! Nicely done!! Neither of us wanted to do it again….off to our next activity. Lol
We changed into the dress code of the day, a bathing suit and cover up. Ha Made our way to the pool just in time for “Crazy Signs”. I love all the action…..so many fun GO’s dancing, singing, clapping. They are pros at getting you up and involved. Its also so fun to see new faces. We all wear bracelets, which is your room key too. It was put on us at entry to The Village. Everyday the color changes, so we are green- Saturday arrival. Most people stay 1 week, so everyone is family by now. Such a fabulous vacation, especially if your me and love to talk to everyone and meet new people. Jules said I have rubbed off on her, as she told me where someone was from and there astrological sign after chatting in the bathroom, LOL 😂 I was hysterical, yet also honored. Anyways, back to pool games. They had this log….you had to try to climb up on it, balance standing, then run on this log in the water. Getting up was the hard part. Here I succeeded! I made it 2 seconds….the winner lasted 5 seconds. It was actually SO fun!! A quick lunch, I had the yummiest cajun grilled Swai- Terri they must catch it here, because it is quite available and super moist. You need to make it for me when home.
Then we made our way to the big event of the day, our group sailing excursion to Iguana Island. So many boats went out for the day, groups of 4 to a boat. Me, Julie, Jenny from Montreal, and Katie from Colorado. We were the only all girl boat- I told everyone about the true story movie, “ Maiden”. So, Jenny has been at Club Med for 4 weeks, was scheduled for 2 and has extended. Omg- could you imagine this life for 4 weeks, heavenly! She has 2 kids at home in their 20’s. She said the lockdowns in Canada are crazy with curfews, and its cold there, why go home? She was our captain, she has done this trip 3 times since being here. Katie, we had met earlier at Trapeze with her husband, she is older- sweet lady. He had to stay back for a work call. The 4 of us spent 2 hours together on the boat, just chatting away and taking in the beauty of these waters. This was the best tour of the Island, as we finally saw all the million $ mansions that people rent. Jenny has been to Turks before as she has friends who live here, she was a wealth of knowledge, an Aires! Katie is a Virgo 🙂 we were cruising along as the wind was good, very important while sailing 😂 well about 35 min into our journey the wind dies down. We are still on these turquoise waters…..Jenny is a pro and tells us there is no way we will make it to Iguana Island and back before dark. Apparently on her 2nd journey she had to be rescued and it was frightening. We all talk about Gilligan’s Island and the Skipper too. Ha Our rescue speed boat of partying GO’s comes by to tell us, we will never make it without more wind, plan B all boats will meet in middle of water, tie up together with music and hang out before sailing back. We all tie up together, and out comes Jo Jo. Yes, holy beautiful majestic creature! The token dolphin 🐬 in the Turks waters. Jo Jo is 40 years old. We all jumped in, with life vests on to swim and bask in the water. It was a sunny day. JoJo swam right next to me, no joke less than an arms length away. Danielle- you would have been in all your glory! I told Julie all about my swimming with Steph in Bali with wild dolphins. This JoJo was friendly and harmless. Such a special moment. The wind picked up, time to get back on the boats which had drifted away a bit. Good thing for life jackets, Jenny was serious business, as she never jumped in. She was SO worried for us and this tiny skinny blonde bombshell lady pulled me by my vest up and into the boat from the water. She did the same for Katie. Jenny’s parents are Greek, she had great travel stories about Greece and many other places. We really enjoyed our day out on the best foursome boat.
Thankfully we were not paired up with Tom, his sail tipped over and they had to be rescued by the reef, I would have had a heart attack. By time we all sailed back to land safely it was 4pm. We decided to lay at the beach. I listened to my Gedale and waited for sunset. Dreamy Day! These sunsets are PRICELESS free beauty…..G-D is beyond good! Thank you Hashem!
We shared a grilled cheese, as we had not eaten very much today, Lol! Made our way back to shower. Tonight was our first time and only planned restaurant reservation off property. Coco Bistro had been written up all over TA, and Adam & Melissa ate there too. It came with rave reviews and lived up to its expectation. We walked there, 5 minutes outside the main gate. Mom, we passed a Casino and had thoughts of you! This place was crowded, good thing we made a reservation. All other hotels drop off guests as the parking lot was full of cars. This is the place to be, yet inside the restaurant, which is all outdoors it was super quiet. The ambiance here was SO island chill! Such a beautiful spot! We were surrounded by trees, white twinkle lights, kitty cats, and the best service. We shared…. Salmon tartar on top of Krispy rice cakes in a sweet soy glaze drizzle, a caesar salad- got the crispy fresh bacon on the side for me, and a yummy Herb-crusted rack of lamb with onion sauce, scalloped goat cheese potatoes, and green beans…with a side of the coconut rice. Like I said we didn’t eat much today, so this meal was perfect. For dessert a coconut cream pie- the island favorite. I only had one bite.
Then we walked home, nice to walk after dinner, made it back for the 9:30 Trapeze Show. As always a wonderful over the top choreographed show. I really think Hillary needs to work here in 10 years. All the GO’s are so intelligent, speak multiple languages, and have serious career paths with solid educations. They are all experiencing life before settling down. One of the girls in tonights show was SO flexible, acrobatic, and beautiful- Andrea from Columbia! What a life these people lead. If Julie could have her Dog here I think she would truly consider it. This show was the shortest, but still great! Some GM’s participated, the Argentinian guy with the Mustache, Santiago was a natural! Katie and her husband sat next to us….its so fun to have fast friends to run into and chat with while on vacation. A true family feel here!
Next up the nightly Dance Party. Im amazed everyone has this much energy all the time. They do play the best music. So many partiers! We dance and dance. I also sit in my chair and do my laurie chair bopping dance. Its SO wild that tonight more people jump in the pool in their clothes. Im in shock and cant believe it. All grown adults fully clothed , men & woman in the pool. This turned into a freaking pool volleyball game at 11:30 pm. Its all hysterical! Last call thankfully is at 1130, i lasted until 11:45. Its time for bed and writing to all of you. My favorite end to a perfect day is documenting it all.
Again, thanks for the comments and virtually sharing this peaceful adventure with us! 2 more days…..
Love you and Miss you xo

Your adventure brings back so many amazing memories of my trips to Club Med with my kids years ago. Remind me to show you video of my daughter doing trapeze as a 4 or 5 year old. Climbed up the ladder like a pro.

Don’t watch the newsss! Especially not CNN, they still didn’t even broadcast what happened in CA overnight and this morning. We have a new Prez since you left… can’t you feel the difference yet? Glad you’re staying for “overtime.” Enjoy your mission to leave it all on the court:-)
