Full day Waikiki…

To catch up where I left off…..I ended up watching 3-4 episodes of Sex in the City on this luxurious flight that it got me into a carefree, mindless, happy state. Not a care in the world(trying so hard to let go of my 13 clients) this is a mind challenge?! Besides the fact that we are landing in Paradise, surrounded by turquoise water i could have flown longer. That first class cabin was all you could imagine and more 🙂 I was really truly spoiled by that seat

We arrive at the rental car place and get the cutest White Convertible VW bug with a black soft top. We are cruising in style, top down, breeze in my hair, AC blasting- it’s warm out! We make our way on the busy freeway of Honolulu to the waikiki beach area. Valet at our cute quaint boutique hotel which truly looks like a renovated apt complex with character. The staff here are all SO ultra friendly and nice. We are offered complimentary welcome beverage. Both opt for the Hawaiian iced coffee. This is when we learned about our upgrade to each have separate rooms in a suite. Im currently in my own King size bed writing……

We both are unpackers/ organizers and you would think I would have learned not to over pack 🤪thankfully i have brought many options for which I’m thankful. Instead of dressing fashionably cute I go comfy to avoid the heat. We make our way walking to Dukes, the same chain in Malibu, CA but originated here. We walked passed my childhood hotel, the Halekulani, it was a stunning hotel on the  water. We r total tourists taking lots of pictures. We make our way through the Sheraton hotel towards the beach. All these places are like stunning AZ resorts yet with views to kill. I truly cant describe the color of this tranquil turquoise  water. Its breathtaking and beautiful. Feet in the sand, water splashing up my legs, boats and paddle boards in the distance, the sun shining, lots of family’s playing games, people floating in the ocean. The beach is packed with people. We walk about 10 minutes on the water to reach Dukes.

We arrive at Dukes, getting a lucky table right away in the bar area. Meet 2 older couples, kind enough to give us their table. They are from Florida & Ohio. No one seems to be from hawaii, as in natives? All relaxed peeps on vacation. We sit, eat, drink, take this view in….so peaceful. We shared our first grilled Fish Tacos and a beet salad- needed a little healthy. Both order the Endless Summer frozen cocktail. We have not spoken in SO long that we have story after story to catch up on each other’s lives.
We make our way back to our hotel, Sari is a shopper while i just relax looking. She tried on clothes, i window shopped, bought my signature magnet for the trip. We sit on our balcony overlooking the pool, chat politics, movies, current events, and then finally relax a bit. We both have books. Reading is my favorite way to mellow out and chill. Book recommendations…..”Dear Cancer, Love Stacy” is what im so into now. Sounds depressing but is a positive optimistic, powerful book about LIVING life through the struggles and making it. This girl i just had the pleasure of hearing speak is a true inspiration. I do love a great memoir.
Off to Happy Hour downstairs at our hotel. Big news……Sari had heard about a Naked Pig Pizza. Its a white pizza with uncured bacon. Hawaii is known for Pig. Sari does not eat meat, anything with 4 legs. BIG DEAL, she decides this is the moment. We film her first bite, she is texting so many peeps to share the news. Ultimately she liked it, cute video says, “ it tastes salty” A funny u had to be there moment. Remember its 3 hours earlier here…. We uber to dinner, just shared Shrimp deviled eggs, and the MOST SCRUMPTIOUS grilled corn bread! To die for, tasted like sweet french toast. Bizarre dinner i know. 🙂

Uber home in a car that was lit up like a night club, and the driver is blasting his rap. I am feeling my age. He thinks we should go out , its only 10 pm- 1 am for us. We come home and crash.
Its now 7am, i can hear traffic, and birds, have an exciting day ahead. We will make the drive to the North Shore where we will enter real Paradise of this 5 star resort for the next 3 nights.   Happy Saturday to you all!Love you miss you….thanks for all the replies SO much!

Love Laurie Sue xo 🙂

I was a bit confused. You walked through the Sheraton Hotel but you didn’t check in there? On the North shore you’re entering paradise at a 5 star resort for the next three night. Did I get that correct?
If so, what’s the resort you had the upgrade to?
    What is the daytime temperatures?
    Ciao
