Boston Living….

posted in: Uncategorized | 9

Im sitting in my lobby of what I have called home now for 17 days waiting for my laundry to dry. I have loved this living in a building thing, friendly people around constantly to help with everything. The dishwasher breaks, ring ring ring- magically fixed! Cooking every meal, a VERY big change for this spoiled Scottsdale girl who eats most meals in restaurants. Im becoming domesticated, cracking myself up that I just wrote this…..ha ha LOL. I have captured photos of my created meals. Jackie even commented, “ this is all happening at a Residence Inn”? Yes it is…..Filet Mignon with mushrooms, zucchini, and spinach, Mushroom/Spinach Muenster Cheeseburger, Grilled Flounder, Chicken Tacos, and SO many delicious lunch creations. Chef Laurie is learning how to cook at the ripe age of 46, ha ha ha. Breakfasts were already my forte, although they have been perfected with extra time to spend in a modern kitchen.

Really, is this my blog post…..yes it is! We have a routine down. I awake to my savior Gedale Fenster, listen after opening blinds still laying in bed with my coffee. Head to my gym downstairs- run 3 miles and lift a few weights. Normally leave around 11/12 and stay out until 4/5 at appts, stores, museums, and just driving around exploring my new favorite state of Mass. I have seen SO much of this state and its suburbs. It’s very much over the river and through the woods, gorgeous green trees, lots of lakes, ponds, and woods. The New England air is fresh, many rainy days, yet we have just experienced hot humid days. Not comfortable, yet my skin and hair are very happy!

Okay,I have been too busy to write, that Im restarting this post and we are now approaching a full month of being here. My life is glorious! I truly am living a dream. To recap all we have seen and done you would need to read my journal. I am writing nightly to myself before bed. A great exercise I have preached to ALL clients and have finally utilized my own medicine. Our days are long, as I am a true night owl here. I don’t turn out my lights until 12/1. Wake up around 8.

We have explored Rockport, MA, the cutest seaside touristy town, I have sparkly earrings as a souvenir. Enjoyed some yummy authentic clam chowder by the water, finished with a root beer float. I can’t wait to see if this adventure has me up or down on the scale when I finally make it home. Time will tell, my clothes still fit, lol

My gym days have changed to a trail walk I found. Its 4.2 miles and I do it daily. Its such a pretty trail covered by lush green trees and some water views of a lake. New England scenery has ALWAYS been my language since my childhood years in CT. We also had a getaway to W. Hartford to visit my family and see my mommy while she was out this way. It was like my mid summer camp visiting day treat. Minus the torrential rain/thunder/lightening storm we drove home in, that was another great day.

I also got to have 2 nights with my Max Klein and meet his girlfriend. They live 20 minutes from me and this was an added surprise to my East Coast adventures. Family & friends are everywhere when we make the time for connecting. Feeling truly SO blessed for my life.

We also found an incredible astrologer who came highly recommended by a practitioner we met. OMG, Peter is my new personal astrologer. My reading was off the charts! I am happy to share his info, as I told him I will be his West Coast agent. He is an author and actually lived with Tom Brady and family for 6 months while writing his memoir. Ohhhhh, we went by Tom Bradys mansion, he actually just sold for 30+ million before moving to Florida. So many adventures, this post is not doing my days justice. Thats okay, these memories are etched in my brain!!

My eyes have been opened to fascinating Alternative medical modalities. Brain Integration and Biomagnetism are the 2 that intrigue me the most. These practitioners are one of a kind and all so blown away when I talk about my dad and the type of medical world I grew up in…..HE is totally here with us and making himself heard daily. The signs are loud!!!

Im actually getting VERY sad this experience is coming to a close for me. Hoping the days go slow…..Ill be home Aug 8th, still have 1 more week and a few days left. Planning to spend a day in Cape Cod(Mashpee, MA) -already did Cape Anne. Also may get to sneak in a beach day tomorrow with my favorite Aunt and Uncle, they are in the Cape for a week on vacation.

So many life lessons learned…..all I can say is my last post(“the log”) truly paved the way for this journey to be the BEST it could be. Life is ALL about trusting the unknown & being comfortable in the uncomfortable! Over the last 30 days it has been mastered and fulfilled in more ways I could have imagined. Missing you all…..so grateful to my friends and family! Thank you for the facetimes, phone calls, texts, and emails!

Love Always Dora- AKA

Laurie Sue xo 😘

What a wonderful experience, and like writing from sleep away camp with a week remaining:

“Dear Mom and Dad, thank you for sending me to Camp Residence 🏨. I met one special camper who motivated me to be a Cook, Chef, Uber Driver, navigator, and travel magician. It was great fun and want to let you know that when I return home, I will have mad skills, many which I never thought some people would think I was capable of enjoying, but knew I had. Except that my CUJ always knew I was amazing and skilled… I just needed a purpose. With unparalleled love and affection, your especially appreciative daughter, Laurie Sue:-)”

Oh wow, Laurie Sue. This was the best yet. Loved reading and seeing these beautiful pics (even again).
It brought tears to my eyes(happy ones for you). And, as Valerie said, “you deserve all that you’ve experienced”.
Keep enjoying the next 10 days.
I expect at least one more blog, maybe two. I would hope that maybe your journal will be the beginning of the book everyone keeps telling you to write . I, for one, can’t wait to see that.
    All my love,
    Mommy

    Hi Laurie,

Sounds like you’re having an amazing adventure there in New England. Boston is one of my favorite cities. I visited Rockport years before I would have appreciated it. Just have fun.

    Love, Roz

Ha, you know I love the reference & tidbit about Tom Brady…it’s the closest I may ever get you to discussing football with me LOL

Taking time to write journal entries is so very sweet. You bring everyone closer – on your trip and in your adventures. Thank you for the photos too, especially the food.
And always thought the best thing you ever made (besides breakfast) were reservations. 😘
