SO many profound experiences happened while in the dreamiest place on earth. I truly had the pleasure of seeing Cape Cod through new eyes with endless time to explore and uncover so much in this corner of the USA. My previous post finished with my Aunt Marlene and CUJ coming to visit for 3 nights. They are the ones responsible for introducing me to Cape Cod when I was a kid while visiting them in CT every summer. They have a time share here and a deep love for the area too. It was perfect to have true quality time together, just the 3 of us, VERY special to me!! 🥰

We had such a lovely visit. We ate yummy dinners out, enjoyed coffee shops while playing Rummy Cube, Blokus, and laughing while reminiscing family stories. They attended my QiGong class in the woods of Harwich, walked the Labryinth in Chatham. We enjoyed a Burlesque show in Wellfleet after another yummy meal, took a long walk on the rail trail, had cocktails at The Chatham Bars Inn, and experienced a Comedy show with 3 comedians at the Orpheum Theater. My aunt would wake up and say that their tour guide/camp counselor had planned another packed day of adventure. Dora is in full effect!!
We watched the sun fall into the sea together all bundled up in the brisk chill of the winter ocean air. The richness of this life I have been blessed with living on Season 3 of the east coast Dora summer tour has been magical. We wrapped up their visit with a last minute walk around a beautiful lake after a delish breakfast at the Red Cottage in Dennis. I am blown away by how many things there are to see and do on Cape Cod, mind-blown!

Upon their departure, I had my Sunday evening Sound Bath scheduled. My week starts like everyday with Gedale in my ears on a neighborhood walk surrounded by the beauty of the fall colors. I simply cannot get enough of these leaves and sunsets. I had another forest bathing scheduled at The Cape Cod National History Museum grounds. This was another unique experience, but night/day from the previous one I described. Let’s just say, I was glad to have had the other in my memory bank, as this was not as meaningful, yet it sure was memorable.
Our group of 5, crossed a marsh in 4 inches of water. One girl took off her sneakers and socks to get across. They had called to prepare me to wear rain boots. I now have a new pair of leopard rain boots added to my wardrobe, lol. The beauty of this protected land was cool to witness, we again hugged a tree, but the group was much louder, funny, and didn’t take it as serious as the prior. I met more people and had a great day out.

On the way home I noticed a sign, Sanctuary Healing Center. I immediately turned in to explore…..a new age gift store with an upstairs “Spa”. I received a tour of the many energy filled special equipment for people to play with, I got scheduled for next week. A Fall special- 60 min for $50, I can try 3 different beds- I’m in!!
Well- fast forward I arrived and first laid on a Crystal bed with 7 colored lights overhead- they aligns your chakra’s. Next was the Bio-Mat Amethysts Bed. WOW- this put me in a trance…..It was a heated bed with purple crystals, I was covered in a weighted blanket, snuggled in like a cocoon…it was dreamy. This is meant to cure aches and pains, and adds purification within your body. The gal working their let me stay on it longer than scheduled for an early b-day present (she was a Virgo- like my mommy). The last toy to experience was a seated hot sauna for the bottom part of my body, I sat upright in this wooden box with my head sticking out. The gal, stayed and we chatted. She was very young, I inquired how she ended up in Cape Cod. She shared a personal story about dealing with her grief journey, she had a VERY close family member pass away recently from pancreatic cancer. She was his care giver and she got teary – eyed as we visited and chatted about the depth of life experiences.
Ready for the BEST part of this story……….As she was telling me she was preparing for the NYC marathon, and how she believed in signs. Her uncle loved golf, and she now had seen golf balls everywhere. I told her about my grief journey and how I had felt him (my daddy) ALL over Cape Cod. I shared with her my first forest bathing story. About how I received an email addressed to me and the other guy attending, I said you know my dad didn’t have a common name, so when I saw “Hi Bruce & Laurie” in the email it was a jolt – a sign for me…..She immediately started to cry. after a BIG sigh……tears streamed her face. Her uncle’s name was also BRUCE! She said how she had been contemplating postponing her race and had been praying for another sign- this was a sign, he wanted her to run. I said well BRUCE spoke up loud and clear today. He will be by your side running with you. She said and, Laurie- you got another sign today too. We shared a hug good- bye and I snapped our photo. It was such a beautiful day, besides feeling like mush- another magical Cape Cod moment.

It was a packed last 2 weeks in the Cape of regular living – I binged 2 great shows on Netflix, ‘Nobody Wants This & Old Money‘. Both great shows- I highly recommend Old Money. I must say being snuggled under a blanket listening to it rain outside during the season of Fall is the best feeling. Not a normal activity for this desert AZ girl. Relaxation with tea at it’s finest. I have fallen in love with the art of tea drinking on a cold day too.
During my last week on the Cape, I had the chance of spending quality time with some of my new friends……A long walk with Jen, another dinner out with Lisa, a QiGong on a Lavender Farm with Kathleen, coffee with Maria, along with one last Soul Circle meeting at the spiritual healing center. I really went out with a bang. I snuck in a late lunch at Pain D’Avignon, the cutest french bistro I had been wanting to try too. Honestly- The month of October was the best time I had experienced solo in a very long time. I will always cherish the memories for sure. One last walk on the beach and a last sunset after a storm. I drove away on Halloween morning for a weekend in Boston.

I arrived in Boston for Adina’s Family weekend with Rachel Cohen/Olsen Family!! Crazy to think her daughter is a Freshman at Brandeis and we are celebrating Rachel’s 50th B-Day together. To catch this blog up, and wrap up Mass, I’ll spare all the details. We had a great time on a college campus. Shabbat dinner, as Brandeis is a VERY Jewish school. We attended an Anti-Semitism on college campus’s talk with a panel of educators- it was super interesting. We met her friends, toured the beautiful campus, had a few meals in the dining hall, they even have a kosher section. Rachel & I snuck away to the fancy 4 Seasons in Boston on Friday night for a night cap of espresso martini’s. The 3 of us had a fun shopping day on Newbury St Saturday followed by a yummy Italian meal on Hanover St in the back bay where they sang Happy B-day to Rach. A great weekend in Boston was had by all.

I started my drive to Woodstock, NY on Sunday at 1pm, little did I know my drive would go by my cousins in-laws Lake house. I got to stop for a potty break in Sturbridge, MA and grab a last hug and kiss from my sweetest cousins Lincoln & Saige. What a nice surprise!!! Adam is connected to the family Life 360 and when I noticed we were close to each other, ring ring ring. I sure do love how much family I am blessed to have on the east coast. A quick swoop in for some love.
I arrived to Helene’s house at 6pm. 1 week in Woodstock and 1 week in PA. Stay tuned for the final update of my last 2 weeks to be posted mid Nov.
Happy November everyone……….It’s My favorite month! 🥳🎉😉
