Bye Bye Amsterdam….

I will certainly miss the relaxation and carefree feeling of an international vacation, along with the endless church bells that ring throughout this magical city. The beauty of the 160 canals winding around each corner will be missed, but never forgotten.

Our last day did not start until noon. Having slept until 10am, a last breakfast at our fully embraced wonderful hotel, we ventured out on another sunny day walk to Vondelpark, the Central Park of the city. After strolling around for some photos, we made our way back to the Joordaan area to experience the big Saturday Farmers market, called Noordmarkt. Here Mrs Fancy bought up more treasures, this girl is quite the collector. For anyone that has been to her home, you know it’s like a fancy Tracy museum. Now she has a Florida home to add her personal flare to be filled with meaningful memories. Thankfully she is married to her prince Charming who adores every ounce of her beautiful spirit.

We had zero agenda today, decided against our original plan of training to another town. Made our way back to the Hoxton Hotel to chill in their cool vibe lobby, just reading & writing and listening to the music.. Then we made our way down the canal to another hotel/brasserie patio for an aperol spritz & cheese plate. Life is but a dream! We just watched the day pass by eavesdropping, people watching, and recapping all of our travels together. Tracy giggled we’re celebrating 10 years as travel partners, our first trip together was to Paris, exactly 10 years ago…..The big robbery post if you’ve been a follower since DTG started, 🤣LOL…..Time sure does fly!

Tracy & I cannot be more opposite people, yet we truly jive so well together.its funny, she is a Virgo and I’m a Scorpio. Our mothers are the opposites….  Meaning she was parented by a fellow Scorpio and my incredible mother is a Virgo. I think this has something to do with it. 🤔

In any case, we sat around and finally ventured back to our area while window strolling not in a hurry. We were adamant to walk around the De Pijp neighborhood adjacent to our Museum Quarter before heading home. This was such a cute area, very trendy hipster, young crowds. We stumbled into a French bar like brasserie for dinner, called The Libertine. We shared a yummy Dover Sole, Steak Frites, and a salad. Yummy last meal for us. We loved our waitress who had just returned from her first USA vaca to Greenwich, CT, NYC & The Hampton. Fancy girl! Upon arrival to our hotel, I finally took advantage of hanging by our lobby fire to write my blog post, while T was upstairs washing her hair. This was our earliest night in at 830pm. We had to pack and organize for the early travel day.

Currently on the plane ride home to SLC first for our final extravaganza. We love a Delta Sky Lounge experience. 4 hours to catch up on calls, emails, etc before re-entry in a luxury setting with food & drinks. Will arrive in AZ at 7pm on Easter Sunday.

Thank you for joining us on this quick European adventure and all for the comments, texts, and emails.

    Hi Laurie Sue-
Another great blog post. Incredible pictures. Love them all. That Dover Sole is phenomenal looking. I know I’m such a foodie as some have said, but that looks delish. Your last pic, with your image kind of reflected on the side of the words on the glass “TRAVEL IS TO LIVE” certainly says it all. So happy you and Tracy had another fantastic vacation. Till the next one, Enjoy what’s still to come……..
    Love again,
    Mom(Boots)

I love how you made your final day of R&R. I’m curious if you discussed politics with those English speaking travelers. That conversation is for another day.
