5 Star Status….Gratitude

The Human Spirit…..this is what fascinates me, all the different people walking the planet. The time I get to spend speaking and learning from humanity on these travels. The morning started with an Uber driver from Montana. A young free spirited guy who only moved to AZ a few months ago. We chatted about life’s adventures, how each place in the US is so different with climate, culture, and peoples vibes. He was a refreshing happy way to start the day. Arrival to Terminal 3, the newer part of PHX airport. WOW…..they have really made it nice. Im flying Delta not my usual airline but Sari’s for status reasons. More to come on that later…… 🙂

Im impressed by the huge brand new Starbucks, got my people magazine, another brief chance encounter with man-kind. A lady headed to NYC, she is more friendly and extroverted than me. She starts talking to the guy ahead about zoos, animals and where he is going. She is psyched to be going to snuggle an African cub at some wildlife park. I am stunned by the story and get myself into the convo to learn more. She has a dream to go to Africa and this is the closest she can get without breaking the bank. Hey all the power to you blonde happy lady! She shows us all her ziplock bags full of snacks for the plane ride and how she is ultra prepared. She was beyond friendly and such a ray of sunshine at 5 am. I make my way through security, passing all new restaurants, wine bars etc…. Mark Tarbell has a restaurant in Terminal 3. PHX is moving on up! I read about the New Moon in Aires, my horoscope and get settled into my seat after boarding the plane. My seat mate is the complete opposite of the friendly animal lover. She did not say one word the entire flight or even exchange a smile. I read my people magazine and woke up for the day.

After taking the shuttle to different Delta terminal at LAX i am reunited with the beautiful Birthday Girl! Sari is originally from Long Island, NY now living on the West Coast. We are so excited to be on another journey/adventure together as the last big one was 5 years ago to Israel. If you don’t recall she and I met in Mexico 8 years ago almost exactly at Club Med. She goes coast to coast often and is a BIG-TIME traveler that she has status on Delta. We board plane together, she goes left to 5 star status I go right to my regular cattle car seat. Im used to it and could truly care less. Until…..she texts me and tells me she got me upgraded to freaking First Class!!! Omg, not business but First! Yes can we say I’m in heaven. She directs me to come up after take off once seat belt sign is off.  Omelette ordered, breakfast awaits, so delicious…I’m understanding the rave about the food my dad always talked about 🙂 my feet are reclined, i can lay flat, the stewardess served me hot coffee in a real mug, table cloth on my tray, hot wash cloth to clean my hands, a screw driver after meal, big noise canceling headphones, pinch me for real! The gratitude I’m feeling is exploding at the seems. Sari is so happy and excited that I’m acting like a kid in a candy store. She worked her NY personality 5 star grateful vibes and Voila! She is my Rockstar! We told the stewardesses how we met, its Saris Bday we are celebrating on and on, they are our friends and such kind ladies with serious customer service.

Once I have figured out how to control my seat, remote control etc. I selected the movie, “Free Solo”. If you have not watched it I highly recommend it!! On a totally different topic I have been having many in depth conversations about the meaning of life lately with friends. For those questioning WTF or better stated WTP(whats the point), I think this movie does a great job of answering these deep questions. A theme in the movie is “Being a warrior, on this path- you will pursue life with excellence without fear. The warrior way!“ A must see movie in my book as it was a beautiful film about how we all process so differently with unique brains of our own. He in the movie is all about performance yet his girlfriend is a free happy girl. None the less , I’m not doing it justice i just suggest you see it. This guys determination and success is mind blowing, truly inspirational , lessons about strength, mind control and again a perfect kick off to adventures ahead. He is truly Living the Shit out of Life(Shanna- this movie made me think of your slogan) This Solo climber is truly one of a kind! Made me think deeper 🙂

Totally unplugging from life, minus this blog and photos.
Okay…..we have arrived, more to come late night when i lay my head on a pillow, but please know Sari who thinks all her friends are well connected is MY connected friend. We have arrived at our boutique hotel in Waikiki that one of her friends is an investor. They have upgraded us to a 2 bedroom Suite! Its like our own apt 2 blocks from the beach. We have a pool view and the pool says, WISH YOU WERE HERE on the bottom 😙😍🥰😘
